John Edward Larsen, 87, died July 24, 2011, at home. Born in Providence, RI to immigrant parents on January 7, 1924, John wrote fondly of his family, childhood and education there in his book "John Larsen Boy to Man". John graduated high school one month after Pearl Harbor, and enlisted in the Army Air Force in December 1942. Vera Mae Becker, 89, of Fort Wayne, passed away Friday, August 5, 2011 at her home. She was born May 15, 1922 in Waynedale and was a homemaker, devoted wife, and loving mother and grandmother. GENE COLEMAN, 82, of Fort Wayne, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Lutheran Hospital. He was born May 22, 1929 to the late Turpin and Jessie (Applegate) Coleman. Mr. Coleman retired from the Indiana Air National Guard in 1985 as a Senior Master Sergeant. He was a member of Hope United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post #241.

RONALD L. "PETE" MARTIN, 77, passed away Monday, July 18, 2011 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Born in Zanesville. He was a U. S. Army Veteran and worked as a machinist with Zollner Piston for 40 years, retiring in 1995 and most recently a shuttle driver with Dimension Ford North. Pete was an avid IU basketball and Cub's fan and also enjoyed woodworking.

BURNICE E. TOOR, 87, passed away Monday, July 18, 2011 at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home in Fort Wayne. She was a native and lifetime resident of Fort Wayne, Burnice worked as a Secretary with Fort Wayne Community Schools for 27 years, retiring in 1990. She was a member of United Faith Presbyterian Church and also volunteered at the Embassy Theater and St. Joseph Hospital.
