DOUG L. BOREN, COMMANDER AMVETS POST #33

DOUG L. BOREN, Commander AMVETS Post #33, 6620 Koester Drive, Waynedale served in the U. S. Army, 1967-68 with the 1st Military Police Company, 1st Infantry Division, Lakhe Vietnam.

Over his 32-year span in the veterans community Doug served as a VFW Post, District, and County Veterans Council Commander. From 1990-2000 he was the State Publications Editor for the VFW Indiana.

Currently as 2nd Vice Commander of the Allen County Council of Veterans Organizations of which he was Commander in 1976-77, he was asked to play “Taps” at the services of many of his comrades. Since 1970 Commander Boren has played for over 500 memorial services and has had the honor of playing at Arlington National Cemetery.

Commander Boren says there will be “Eats” at the post on Monday, November 11th.
