Birds, such varied, small and beautiful creatures are from the hand of Almighty God, the Creator of Heaven and Earth. Too frequently we haven’t the time to slow down and see God’s touch of beauty upon this earth. In the order of things around us there are birds for pollination of plants, birds that live on insects, birds that remove creatures that have been killed and those that have died, birds that sing their hearts out to the glory of God. Each giving its praise to its Creator as the Psalmist says a number of times.
In our hurried up lives and tense days of living we need something that is beautiful and reassuring, we need the reminder that God is a God of love and fairness and beauty and tenderness. If you haven’t found the beauty of His creation, the things that surround us, take some time now to just sit and listen to those little creatures living out their lives without a worry in the world because they live as God created them. Early in the morning, around 4:30am or so, they start singing and they close out the day and evening most often with a great chorus of praise and peace and contentment just before they go to sleep. Not once do they give thought to the day past or the day to come.
The Bible says that even the unheralded sparrow does not fall to the ground without the Heavenly Father’s knowledge. The Bible also says that His creation takes no thought of the morrow, what to eat or what to wear, and that even Solomon in all his splendor was not arrayed as the creatures of God. The lessons we can learn are many. There is peace, trust, contentment, beauty, unselfishness just to name a few. As God will take care of all His creatures so He will also take care of you and me. The next time you see a beautiful bird, take time to thank God for His love to all creatures, but especially to you for His Son, His greatest gift, Jesus Christ. In Him we shall soar as the Eagle above all the pain and suffering in this world and in our lives. We will be remembered as the lowly sparrow. In Him you have the gift of eternal life, peace, hope and love. Trust and accept the Lord in all things and in all ways.
