COMMUNITY PICNIC IN THE PARK HUGE SUCCESS

Dear Friends,

We wish to thank each and every one of you for your attendance to our third annual Community Picnic. We had over 900 people attending this year’s event. It was a huge success!

We would like to thank all of our 176 businesses and individual sponsors who contributed to making this yearly event even more special than the prior 2 years. Your sponsorship allowed us to provide game and door prizes for all age groups.

Everyone enjoyed the Fort Wayne Police Department, the K-9 units and bomb squad equipment. The Fort Wayne Fire Department displayed their fire engines and there was also Baer Field racecar as well as other collector cars.

A special thanks to the G-Men Band who provided some fine entertainment for all of the attendees and kept the 80 volunteers upbeat despite the heat.

The LTD Dancers showed quite a few new steps to the bands beat.

We had many games for the kids, including a moonwalk, rock-climbing wall, balloon makers, a clown with a magic show, and bingo for all.

Free food was provided with a taste for all; pizza, hot dogs, salads, veggies and dip, chips, nachos, sno-cones, cake & ice cream and cotton candy.

We are looking forward to next year and remember to patronize our local contributors because without them, this event just wouldn’t be so much fun.

Editors note

We received this thank-you note from Waynedale reader, Letitia Clark, Pinedale Drive.

“To the businessmen and women of Waynedale,

Thank you for the wonderful picnic you put on!

I thought it was very nice. I hope you can do it again next year.”
