For many in the area, the name “Lighted Acres” brings up memories of square dances, wedding receptions and family gatherings. In the same great location since 1961, and renamed Lighted Gardens in 1992, they continue to host gatherings of all kinds. Just a short drive from Waynedale, Bluffton, Decatur, Berne, Huntington, Fort Wayne, and Hoagland, they offer personalized service at a fair price.
Under current ownership of Chef Jerry Springer, he brings over 30 years of foodservice and catering experience to the area.
“I would like to thank all the many friends and customers that have supported my staff and me for the past 14 years here at Lighted Gardens. I am confident that with continued support from the local community, we will be able to help our guests celebrate for many years to come.”
Lighted Gardens recently started offering a Sunday Brunch Buffet, offered bi-monthly.
“The response to our Buffet has been fantastic,” stated Springer. “I would like to personally thank all those people who have enjoyed our buffets and encourage them to come back anytime”.
“We’re really excited about some of our upcoming theme buffets, including our Father’s Day (June 17) and our All-American Buffet, offered on July 1.
For Father’s Day we are featuring a “Backyard BBQ” theme with Pulled Pork, BBQ Chicken and some special surprises, just for Dad”.
“Our All American Buffet will feature Rotisserie Chicken, Brat Burgers, Hot Dogs and Corn on the Cob, presenting in a patriotic theme.
To complete the dining experience they will also have a fresh salad buffet with all homemade salads and a dessert station that includes some sugar-free offerings.
Still to come for their yearlong 50th Anniversary celebration will be “Cruise Ship Dining” night and a New-York formal dinner. Both events will be held later this year.
Lighted Gardens is conveniently located just north of Ossian at 10794 N. State Road 1, or 10 minutes south of the Fort Wayne International Airport.
