I have worked for Kingston Health Care since 2001, first as an Activity Director at the Kingston – Dupont Memory Care Assisted Living and currently as the Marketing Director for Kingston Residence Assisted Living on Winchester Road. I love my job because I have the best of both worlds; I get to spend time with our wonderful residents and also have the opportunity to educate people in the community as to what Kingston is all about plus get involved in local events.
After working near Waynedale for just over a year, I knew I wanted to call it home. I love the friendliness and closeness of the community and have grown to be very passionate about seeing Waynedale prosper.
I serve as chairperson of Waynedale Trails and Sidewalks committee and am very excited about the ramp that was installed at the corner of the Lower Huntington/Fairfield/Tillman intersection connecting Waynedale to the St. Mary’s Pathway. We are also elated to learn of the sidewalks and trails slated for Bluffton Road this year. We are blessed to have a strong group of committed volunteers who help with organized fundraisers and clean up days of the two-mile portion of the trail that we have adopted. Winterset Association also supports this cleanup effort year round.
As a member of the Waynedale Chamber we are seeing great things coming with the Waynedale Corridor. Through the Waynedale Community Improvement Team, Kingston has been blessed to be a part of many Waynedale events such as the Easter Egg Hunt, Fall Festival, Trunk or Treat, Christmas in Waynedale and of course we sponsor the annual Kingston’s Taste of Waynedale which has raised a lot of money for local charities.
On the personal side, I am married to my best friend Jack. I inherited Alicia, the best daughter ever along with her husband Andy. We have one cat and two beagle grand dogs, and live in Winterset Association which is full of great neighbors. I enjoy walking, biking, scrapbooking and reading.
I am also a board member with Honor Flight Northeast Indiana. It is very rewarding to be a part of this group that sends Veterans to Washington to reflect upon the memorials built in their honor. Additionally, I am passionate about supporting the Alzheimer’s Association through education and as a support group co-facilitator.
