MARCELLA E. PALMER, 92, of Fort Wayne, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, March 22, 2017. She was born on October 9, 1924 in Whitley County, a daughter of the late Lewis and Nora (Pequignot) Hine. She worked as a homemaker raising her family. She was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church and their rosary sodality. She enjoyed watching baseball, basketball, playing bingo and rooting on the Chicago Cubs.
Her greatest joy was her children and grandchildren and especially going to all of their events. She was their biggest fan and the #1 fan of The Stand!
Surviving family include her sons, Mike (Lisa) and Tom (Mo) Palmer; grandchildren, Jack (Chelsea), Brendon (Carly), Ryan, Mitch (Lisa), Zach, Eddie (Taylor), Matt and Mick; great grandchildren, Julian, Will, Sydney, and Malakai; sister, Helen Guillaume; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in passing by her husband, Delbert “Mick” Palmer; granddaughter, LeighAnn Marie Palmer; siblings, Catherine Merrill, Edna Sauer, Christine McPherson, Mary Zwick, Louise Teusch, and Ralph and Paul Hine.
Mass of Christian burial was 11:00am on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at St. Therese Catholic Church, 2304 Lower Huntington Rd., Fort Wayne with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 4-8 pm on Monday, March 27, 2017 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Rd., Fort Wayne with a rosary at 4:15 pm. Burial was in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Roanoke.
