EARTH DAY FORT WAYNE AT EAGLE MARSH

On a cool, spring morning volunteers donned their raingear, boots, gloves and hats and, with trashbags by their side, assisted the Little River Wetland Project with cleaning up the area.
Paul and Jane Sieber were just a couple of the many volunteers that assisted with the cleanup to protect the preserve’s habitats and the wildlife by removing trash left this past winter along Eagle Marsh on Engle Road, Saturday, April 22, 2017.
From a rain barrel decoration contest to talks about honeybee science, this year’s Earth Day Fort Wayne celebration offers activities, presentations and learning stations—all focused on protecting our natural environment.

On Sunday, April 30, from 1-5PM, join staff and friends of LRWP at Eagle Marsh, 6801 Engle Road, for a fun, informative afternoon with activities geared for the whole family. You may park on Engle Road-the road will be closed to through traffic.

Here’s what you can look forward to:
*Check out our learning stations— displays, hands-on activities and even wildlife you can see, touch and explore
*Catch various speakers, including Soarin’ Hawk and its live raptor ambassadors and Southwest Honey Co.
*Bid on a decorated rain barrel from talented young artists
*Shop for native plants, natural local honey, pressed flower décor, artwork, and more at our Farmers’ Market
*Take advantage of free bike valet service from Fort Wayne Outfitters (the Towpath Trail goes straight to the event)
*Talk to conservation organizations about their current projects
*Grab a snack from food trucks—Bravas, Pizza Bomba and Jai Juice

Earth Day Fort Wayne is made possible by support from our generous presenting sponsors Aqua Indiana, General Motors, Indiana Michigan Power, and NIPSCO.

** Edit: This event has been postponed due to adverse weather conditions. It has been rescheduled for September 10, 2017. **
